The Ugly Truth —— Men are Shallow!!

The Ugly TruthI recently saw the movie “The Ugly Truth” which was very funny, but it did point out a very true fact.  The ugly truth is that men are shallow and do want a beautiful woman!  Does she have to be smart, funny, have a good family , morals , etc, etc, etc ?  Yeah, sure, but at the end of the day it starts and ends (sometimes quickly) with how she looks! Sorry ladies but its true.  EVERY man wants his woman to look good, period!

I know women want to believe that men will look beyond the superficial aspects of looks to see the inner beauty of a woman and they will IF she looks good enough for them to want to stick around.  Hell , the truth is, the better you look the more a man will put up with before he kicks you out.  An unattractive woman will be on a  short leash.  I have never met a man that didn’t want his woman to be gorgeous.  I have also never met a man that says ” My girl is dog ugly but she is so smart. I just love her!”   Ask any man a simple question.  If you could have the everything you love about your current woman in the body of  Beyonce or Carmen Electra, would you take it?  Trust me the answer would be yes; no matter what he says to your face.

Now, I am not saying every man ends up with a beautiful woman.   Thats another issue (which we’ll be talking about on our show).  Also, beauty is in the eye of the beholder but ugly is pretty clear.  So, ladies don’t be fooled, all the manicures, pedicures,  gym workouts, tummy tucks, breast implants, face lifts , botox, wigs and weaves do matter.  If you look good men are paying attention!  DAYUM!!!!, the truth is pretty ugly!

    Men will woo women to make them feel good, but basically all they are after is sex, even early in the relationship.

    any women reading this PLEASE PLEASE don't get tummy tucks, breast implants, face lifts or botox. 99% of men prefer you if you DON'T have them. not to mention face lifts/botox make you look like an emotionless freak

    I am a handsome half british and half italian man. Ivy league university complete with a good job, whilst I can afford to judge a woman on looks more than most here I don't. I very often go for the average looking girls who are fun to be around with and can crack a joke or two. You can keep the barbies but don't be too surprised if they drop you for the kens, remember that as equality in the workplace improves women will start to judge more on looks as well, your value as a provider diminishes simply because you're no longer needed. Not to mention a handsome face on a man conveys good genetics, ugly men rich or not do not produce stunners all that often : )

    As much as I want to disagree with this post I really can't. Maybe its just the way we are socialized to grow up as "Men" but its true, we are shallow.

  • Perhaps my masculine genitals are fooling me but last time I checked I was definitely of the male persuasion and I'm sorry I just don't buy into blanket statements - for men or women - such as the one mentioned.

    I will say that I agree that the majority of the men of the on the planet (and women too for that matter) probably base their selection of a potential mate on looks; so do peacocks, lions and a whole plethora of other animals. Have I approached a woman because she's pretty? Sure. You can best bet I've done some serious observing (checking out her body language, the friend she's with ... basic personality clues) before I take one step toward her. Why? I know that looks aren't everything.

    Mom, grandma and other influential women in my life groomed me well with the saying all that glitters isn't gold. Perhaps as a teen I threw the warning to the side and chose to date girls that were of a certain look but as I got old my needs and maturity level changed to match what I had learned: go for substance over surgery!

    Oh! As for the question regarding body switching my wife with Beyonce or Carmen ... Beyonce has a body on her, no doubt, but I'm not crazy about the face so no. Carmen has the face but she's too skinny, so no. :o) Besides once they get older age and gravity, regardless of the amount of injecting, cutting and tucking gets done, takes over and then you go all Tiger Woods on her. I'm satisfied with who I'm with because of who she is, not for how she looks.
